Centre for Teacher Education

Introduction of Centre of Teacher Education:
Adhering to the philosophy of “love as a beam and wisdom as a wall” and the spirit of “being a teacher and a role model”, we continue to deepen and innovate education by strengthening the basic curriculum, deepening the humanities curriculum, and participating in volunteer service activities, as well as integrating and utilizing the rich humanistic resources of Tzu-Chi Volunteer Organization, the affiliated middle schools and experimental primary schools, and the outstanding teachers of Tzu-Chi Teachers’ Fellowship Association.

The Center arranges a “Bamboo Ceremony” for the graduating teacher trainees, in which they take the oath, thank their parents and teachers, and confer on the graduating teacher trainees the educational mission of “aspire to be a teacher and protect the wisdom of the world”. They are grateful for the support of their family members, and for the teacher’s earnestness and respect, and they hope that when they are interned or employed in the future they will be able to do their utmost in fulfilling their educational aspirations to protect their students, and to become a scripture master and teacher of the world.

The Teacher Education Center has trained more than 70 teachers in the past three years, and 21 teachers with teaching qualifications in the 111th school year.

Department of Child Education and Family Studies

Introduction of Department of Child Education and Family Studies :
Family is the cornerstone of society, and children are the hope of mankind. In recent years, Taiwan’s rapid industrial and commercial development has caused changes in the social structure and family patterns, resulting in problems in family education and child rearing. Therefore, the department’s mission is as follows: to cultivate education professionals with professional knowledge and humanistic spirit in the spirit of compassion, joy, and charity, and to provide the professionals in pre-school education, child development, and family education that society needs.

Graduation Flow Survey 

In the 111th school year, the Department trained 30 students, 20 of whom were certified as teachers and 24 of whom were certified as homeschool professionals.

TCU Continuing Education Center

Introduction of Continuing Education Centre:
Adhering to the spirit of Dharma Master Chengyen, “Great Compassion without Boundaries, Great Compassion in the Same Body” and the educational philosophy of “People Oriented”, and practicing “Compassion, Happiness, and Sacrifice, and Respect for Life” as the supreme guiding principle, we have established this centre with the aim of promoting social education in line with the national social education policy.

The Continuing Education Centre of Tzu Chi University organised “4” training sessions in the 111th school year, with “120” qualified trainees.
