4.2.1 Lifelong Learning Measure-Free Access

Introduction:
The rise of digital learning is an inevitable process of the development of the times. Since 1994, Tzu Chi University, located in East Taiwan, has been upholding the mission of “upgrading the standard of medicine in the eastern part of the country, cultivating excellent medical talents for the society, and enhancing the well-being of all people”, and cultivating generations of talents through quality education. To keep up with the pace of the times, the University has also been utilizing digital technology to implement its educational philosophy of sharing love and care.

Number of students and courses for 111 academic year

Since the beginning of 2007, the Center has served 8 Hualien elementary and middle schools, with a total of 259 teachers and students, and 588 elementary and middle school students receiving services.

Related information 

This program is a collaboration between the Tzu-Chi University , the Center for Chinese Language and Technology at National Taiwan Normal University, and Tzu-Chi University to provide online Chinese language companion learning in the form of digital teaching to students at Menahil International School.

During the summer vacation in 2023 and winter vacation in 2024, we will arrange for the outstanding university companions to go to Turkey to serve the Syrian refugees there, so as to materialize distance learning and take this opportunity to interact, exchange and learn from each other.

Menahil’s Promise 

Since the outbreak of the epidemic in the summer of 110, in order to allow disadvantaged students to “stop schooling and not stop learning”, the Center has cooperated with the Tzu Chi Foundation to carry out the “Youth Online Accompaniment for Learning” project.
The project aims to support children through “companionship” and “fun” online companionship.
Since July 2021, a total of 4,475 youths have participated in the program and 58,112 have benefited from the program.

Introduction：
In order to make students who are studying abroad feel at home in a foreign country, we invite Tzu Chi volunteers from all walks of life to form the Tzu-Cheng Association. In addition to teaching students etiquette and morals in a friendly manner, we also listen to them and provide timely counseling to help them deal with their psychological and emotional problems. At the same time, we are responsible for the communication between students, parents and the school in a rational and emotional way, and we hope that the students will show their moral and academic qualities from the heart.
